Since half term, we have been looking at forces in our science lessons. We have been focusing on gravity, friction, air resistance and water resistance.

To build on our understanding of air resistance, we were given an egg in pairs to protect when dropped from a height. We had to think about the size and shape of the packaging around the egg and the idea of a parachute.

We found that the most successful protections (the eggs that didn’t break!) had much larger parachutes and flat faces on the packaging as this had the most air resistance and therefore slowed down the egg the most when it was dropped.
