Geography

Through our knowledge-rich topics and teaching, children at Hackleton develop a sense of exploration, location knowledge and environmental awareness.  Their geography education begins locally before learning about the world’s people, places and environments and the physical and human processes that form our planet.  We aim to excite the children about their place in the world and the possibilities it provides for future enquiry, discovery and understanding.  Children are taught to think like a geographer by asking questions, learning practical skills and developing an understanding of our impact on the world in which we live.

The objectives for geography in KS1 and KS2 are clearly set out in the National Curriculum which can be found by clicking the link below.
