In order to enrich the curriculum further and offer first hand experiences, educational trips and visitors are organised for every year group. These are planned to enhance the learning in a range of subjects including the humanities, science and art. For example, children may visit a farm, a country park or try pond-dipping in science. They will visit museums or historical houses for history, where a topic is brought to life with dressing-up and role-play. We invite visitors into school so that experts and specialists can share their knowledge and immerse the children in a world of art and artists, a period in history or a world faith. Children in Year 6 are given the opportunity to go on a week-long residential trip, currently to the Isle of Wight. These educational visits aim to complement and enhance the learning in the classroom and give children as many different opportunities as possible.
