Attendance

Research shows that there is a direct link between a child's attendance and their attainment.

Attendance

Absence Procedure

The school is required to keep records of lateness and the reasons for all absences. If your child will be absent for any reason, you must inform the school either by telephone or in writing by 9am on the morning of absence. No authorisation will be granted for holidays in term time so please check term dates well in advance of booking a holiday. Requests for authorisation of absence in very exceptional circumstances should be made two weeks prior to the requested absence using the Absence Request Form  Please note, fines may be issued by West Northants Council for unauthorised absences. For more information regarding Fixed Penalty Notices for term time holidays please see 'Penalty notices for non-school attendance

Is my child too ill to attend school?

It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school when they're unwell.  There are government guidelines for schools about managing specific infectious diseases at GOV.UK. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.

If you do keep your child at home, it's important to phone us and let us know that your child won't be in and the reason for their absence.

The NHS has produced a really helpful guide for parents in regards to illnesses and whether your child should be off school.  Click here to visit the webpage and find out more.

Emergency School Closure Procedures

On extremely rare occasions, the school may not be opening due to emergency closures.  We will put the information on our school website and send out an email.
