HSA

What is the HSA?

The Hackleton School Association is the school’s parent led fundraising committee  The HSA is very successful  and since it began many years ago it annually raises in excess of £5,000.  As such, under The Charities Act 1993, we are required to be registered with The Charity Commission and follow their rules and regulations.

 Committee Roles

The Committee consists of four officers – Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Under our Constitution, we can then have up to a further 10 committee members.

As an officer or member, we meet regularly, usually once a month, (more regularly in the run up to a large event for example Christmas fayre). At meetings we will plan and co-ordinate events and members can decide the level of commitment they can give to different events.

The Committee is elected at our Annual General Meeting which is held in the school during the autumn term.

Raising money

Most of our fund raising is done through our events. In the past, these have included coffee mornings, disco’s, fayre’s, race nights, bingo nights and cinema nights.  We have also produced calendars and Christmas cards and participated in recycling schemes.

Whether on the committee or not we are always on the lookout for new ideas and fun events that all involved, teachers, parents and children, will enjoy. It doesn’t necessarily have to raise tons of money, it can just be about everyone getting involved in fun activities!  So please feel free to get in touch with any ideas.  You can do this by leaving a message with the school office (e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. Information about the HSA

All letters relating to what we are up to will either be e-mailed or sent home in books bags (this is dependent on whether or not a reply/payment is required).

We will keep you up to date with how much has been raised and how the money is spent.

Being on the Committee is a fantastic way of meeting new parents as well as being a lot of fun, however, it can also have some challenging moments! If you would like to help out but don’t feel that you can commit regularly we do have a Friends list.  This is our list of invaluable people we can call on to help us out at big events or who can do little jobs such as wrapping gifts or setting up at events.  There is never an event where we can have too many people – any offer of help is always gratefully received!

Finally, feedback, opinions and comments are also very much appreciated. We really want to know what events you’d like us to put on or what you thought of an event – what could we have done to improve it?  The HSA relies on the support of the parents so want to provide you with events that you really want to support.

If you would like to contact us regarding any points in this leaflet please feel free to on the contact details mentioned above.
